As a man and someone who may well be wearing one of these devices at some point in the not too distant future. I too would like to hear this information.
I do not know if this will help. A few years ago i combined i CB2k with the contain and train collar. It only had four levels on the controler. Level one was not noticable unless you were being attentive. You noticed level two and knew that your attention was requested. Level three was made you want to protect them but knowing when your hands reached the CB2k your were not going to be able to. It is a level that you are not going to be walking away gracefully. At level four I was down on my knees. I did run into the boundy wire once and was hoping around trying to figure out what was going on. When i figured it out it was the crawling back to inside boundy.
To the dom and wifes that are considering something like this. It was her faverate toy.
From what I gather, existing pet collars are AC rather than DC. DL Labs has indicated that DC is really different feeling than AC.
Also, there's no real telling what level matches with what level between the two. Level 1 on pet collar might be twice as many volts (or duration) as the DL2K.
After much digging through every post in this site I found this so here is our answer;
low" pulse is just a notch above barely noticeable, "medium" is "ouchy" and "high" is a definite "OUCH". Both medium and high levels are strong enough to make it difficult to voluntarily press the buttons for "testing purposes".
Actually, all three levels are owner adjustable. The default levels are much as described above, except for me, even the high one, I had no problem pushing the button. I raised both the 2 and 3 levels considerably and with that, I am hesitant to push the three button. It is brutal but I needed something for her to use if I was really non compliant. Sometimes I can be stubborn and that will definitely bring me around.
The worst by far is the timed pulses. The high one, repeates the high pulse every minute for 20 times. The only thing you can do is just sit down someplace comfortable for 20 minutes and let it pass and hope she doesn't use it again.
