Thank you very much for your help in pointing me to your manual.
I do have a question. While playing with settings on Chronovault, I noticed I am not able to enter a number larger than 254 months. Is there a way this limit can be extended please?
Thanks & looking forward to getting my device soon.
As we both know, that limit has been exceed just a shade since my college days. My home media computer has 128GB of RAM :) You know how frustrating it is dealing with hardware limits. Windows has that 2.2TB limit on hard drives, there are ways around that easily enough. A couple lines of code :)
Would take a lot more than a little, since the firmware would have to be changed, retested, all the USB functions rewritten, and a new device programmed and sent to you. Custom work is likely to cost thousands.
I thought a simple "flash" type upgrade would work. Not sure how timer function would cause problems with other functions. I can ask around & see if I can find some ideas for you. There is one code function I have & that would be to use my email address as a "Master Key",or back door an over ride for permissions so to speak. In case things do get out of hand.
I have a few ideas (being in a belt rather than a tube). My belt has a back strap on it (which is keyed differently than belt lock). It would be cool to have a vault with 2 compartments, so both sets of keys can be placed inside yet only one can be accessed at a time. A simple simple or reassignment of locks would accomplish this easily. Maybe that can be a new product idea & I can be your guinea pig for it.
Customizing & being your guinea pig for this device is an option I can consider. Would I send you a Paypal deposit to start this?
Do you wish to talk in more details about this here or is email better for privacy?
Why not buy two ChronoVaults. It would be cheaper than custom development though I DO realise there could be a market for a double chamber version, ideally one which knows a PARTICULAR key is in it before releasing the other one, or even better for me, develop a little interface between the DreamLover software and an existing electric door release mechanism, one of those things with a solenoid which forms the pocket that a deadlock's bolt goes into which opens by remote control to allow the bolt part to swing out.
If you want to use a timer of 1200 months, why not just destroy the key?
254 well 255 actually is the largest number that is represented in a single byte. To increase this will result in another byte being used to store a larger number which I am sure results in MAJOR changes to the code. Really isn't 21 years 2 months, if my match is correct, enough time? If more time is needed then just close the vault without the timer and it will remain closed. Another way to look at it is, 21 years ago was before Windows 95. Hopefully in 21 years from now there will be drivers for "OS what ever" to control the ChronoVault. In my case Mistress is the owner of the Vault and it is totally up to here when it opens.

Can I pay you a little extra fee to "patch" that limit please. Paypal right away for you.
