Of course you have to comply with the laws of the country in which you sell even if you're not based there... otherwise we could just incorporate in Mongolia and sell everywhere with impunity :)
Customs officers are the ones who do the checking.
The fact you've received Erostek products from the US with no questions asked is not relevant here, they do not transmit in the ISM band and so they do not need a test report (but they do need a C-tick and to comply with general safety laws specific to Australia). They also possibly use OEM circuit boards that they didn't design in which case they'd be able to rely on testing done by the manufacturer. Can't really speak for them.
We'll begin the process of exploration of whether our test reports have any weight for Australia and will report soon!
For sure we want to sell to Australia ASAP, aside from having many visitors to our website and hence potential clients, we lived there and it's just a beautiful country we might just return to after the China experience is over :)
