Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, this has no effect: the chronovault is still "not recognized". It's also not seen by DL_Uplink. Windows Device Manager says that the ChronoVault is an 'Unknown Device' and that "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
Just wanted to post a note to say that DL followed up by email and have been absolutely great in getting to the root of this issue. 'Nice to see such customer service.
Please verify that the DL Uplink is seeing the ChronoVault.
If not, unplug it, restart your pc, and plug in the ChronoVault again.
